GARGANEY....

As of 4 May 2015, a total of 131 species had been recorded at Tring Reservoirs this year, just 110 of these recorded by me (Roy H & Ian lead, with Dave Bilcock not far behind and Steve Rodwell in 4th place)

Thus far, bird for me has been this dapper drake GARGANEY on Marsworth Reservoir, photographed just a few days ago......

The last couple of weeks...

Since mid April, been fairly quiet at the Reservoirs with just the arrival of the usual summer migrants. Highlights have included the long-staying drake GARGANEYS (on Tringford & on Wilstone), up to 14 Hobbies, a male WHINCHAT by the Dry Canal (IW), up to 10 YELLOW WAGTAILS on the Marsworth Paddocks, a single COMMON CUCKOO, a small wave of BLACK & ARCTIC TERNS (DB et al), 9 LITTLE GULLS on 22nd and a single WHIMBREL (SR).

Here is a selection of my images taken over this period -;
