LESSER SPOT in Ashridge

I enjoyed very good views of a male LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER feeding in scrubby trees from ground level to about 20 feet. This was from 10 to 10.30 this morning near the Monument. From the main pond head into the wood roughly 50/100 yds north east. Three treecreepers, several nuthatches and a GSW were in the same area (Richard Birch)
