Calling QUAILS present for their 5th day

The view from the 'stump' (Coombe Hill)

Just in case anyone is interested, the 2 calling COMMON QUAIL were still present at 1115 hours today in the Poppy meadow at Coombe Hole, 800 yards NE of the peak of Ivinghoe Beacon at SP 963 174. Park by the entrance to Gallows Hill and walk 75 yards along the minor road to Ivinghoe Aston to view through the hedgerow by the obvious left tree stump; also 1 jangling male CORN BUNTING here and at least 4 Yellowhammers. Both Skylark and Meadow Pipit feeding young too
