More on yesterday's RING-NECKED DUCK....

I found this whilst searching for the Greater Scaup from the car park steps about 6.15pm  tonight. I managed to get Dave B there to confirm what I thought was a drake RING-NECKED DUCK. It had initially been feeding close to the spit mid way between the jetty and Drayton bank before flying around with 3 Tufted Ducks (exhibiting a dark/grey wing with no white wing bars) whilst I was on the phone to Dave. On landing it was closer but the light was going. I managed to fire off some shots although it was proving difficult to pick out in amongst the Pochard and Tufteds at distance. Attached are a few heavily cropped record shots. Seen by 3 observers only...
