RING-NECKED DUCK relocated on Startop's End Reservoir
Dave Bilcock relocated the drake RING-NECKED DUCK on Startop's End Reservoir on Sunday morning, the bird remaining present with up to 133 Northern Pochard until this evening at least. With much better weather today, I finally managed to get some decent shots of the bird and due to the ongoing scrub clearance work, spent much of its time in the extreme SE corner of the reservoir - the controversial Buckinghamshire section....

More on yesterday's RING-NECKED DUCK....
I found this whilst searching for the Greater Scaup from the car park steps about 6.15pm tonight. I managed to get Dave B there to confirm what I thought was a drake RING-NECKED DUCK. It had initially been feeding close to the spit mid way
between the jetty and Drayton bank before flying around with 3 Tufted Ducks (exhibiting a dark/grey wing with no white wing bars) whilst I was on the phone
to Dave. On landing it was closer but the light was going. I managed to fire off
some shots although it was proving difficult to pick out in amongst the Pochard
and Tufteds at distance. Attached are a few heavily cropped record shots. Seen
by 3 observers only...
