This fresh juvenile MEDITERRANEAN GULL was present in front of the Drayton Bank Hide at Wilstone Reservoir from 0700 to about midday on Saturday 9 August 2008. Warren Claydon initially identified it and as the morning progressed, Ian Williams, LGRE, Steve Rodwell and Dave Bilcock connected with it. DB was able to obtain the three images above.
The reservoir has proved extremely productive in recent weeks mainly because water being extracted for the nearby Grand Union Canal has seen its depth drop by several feet, leaving much mud and emergent vegetation (see Dave's picture below)
