Poor visibility downs a drake COMMON SCOTER....

At around 0630 hours this morning, Dave Bilcock discovered a drake COMMON SCOTER on WILSTONE - the bird presumably displaced by the early morning mist in the Aylesbury Vale. Despite it warming up to 15 degrees C during the afternoon, the bird remained (asleep) throughout the rest of the day. A couple of migrant COMMON SHELDUCK dropped in too, while 3 Common Goldeneye, 5 Sand Martins and an increase in Common Chiffchaffs was also noted.
