Birding Tring Reservoirs: OSPREY

OSPREY

I picked up a raptor flying in from the northern corner at about 5.35. It headed towards the jetty and proceeded to hover. It was an OSPREY! Getting Roy on to it, I rang Dave Bilcock in the hide to inform him. It gradually flew a little closer before moving down the Drayton Bank towards the hide, hovering again briefly before being chased off in to Bucks airspace by lapwing. I managed to fire off some shots, attached are heavy crops. Also a couple of the GREATER SCAUP from recent days (Ian Williams)
