IVINGHOE HILLS NATURE RESERVE
Mike Wallen discovered two COMMON REDSTARTS in scrub and Hawthorns by the S-bend, including a nice moulting male (see images above) (MW, DB).
WILSTONE RESERVOIR (little change; observations from Ian Williams, Roy Hargreaves, Dave Bilcock, Steve Rodwell)
LITTLE EGRET - both birds still present
LITTLE EGRET - both birds still present
WHOOPER SWANS - both adults present (see Mike Wallen's superb images above)
Eurasian Wigeon - both the eclipse drake and female still present as well as a third bird (Ben Miller recorded 4 on 30 August)
Common Teal - 107 (SR)
*GARGANEY - still present and showing well on left side of bund from hide.
HOBBY - at least 1 still present
COMMON SANDPIPER - juvenile still present on spit with two new arrivals (IW)
COMMON GREENSHANK - all 5 juveniles still present
*BLACK-TAILED GODWIT - 2 'new' juveniles gracing mud to right of hide
Black-headed Gull - c500 (JT)
PITSTONE QUARRY
