HIGHLIGHTS


WHOOPER SWANS - the two adults remain throughout

Eurasian Wigeon - 43 at College Lake on 19th (JT)

Red-crested Pochard - female at College Lake on 19th (JT) and again on Marsworth Reservoir on 20th (SR)

*OSPREY - one drifted over Ivinghoe Beacon heading south at 1820 hours on 19th (Jonathan Nasir), with another heading south across Wilstone Reservoir at 0702 hours on 21st (Roy Hargreaves).
**EUROPEAN HONEY BUZZARD - a pale morph juvenile that flew in from Aylesbury Vale drifted slowly SW over Wilstone village at 1130 on Sunday 21st (Dave Bilcock), with a dark morph juvenile drifting south towards Bulbourne at 1215 hours later that day (Dave Bilcock). A further dark morph juvenile flew south over the car park and ridge at Ivinghoe Hills NR at 1205 on 21st (Rob Andrews, Francis Buckle).
*MARSH HARRIER - Mike Wallen flushed a juvenile from short range at Steps Hill at 0730 hours on 18th, which flew off east towards Whipsnade. This was followed by another juvenile that flew towards Tring town from Pitstone Hill at 1630 hours on 21st (Steve Rodwell).

WATER RAIL - 3 remained on Wilstone (SR)

EUROPEAN GOLDEN PLOVER - 2 over Ivinghoe Beacon on 18th (Mike Wallen)

COMMON SNIPE - 3 remain on Wilstone (SR)

COMMON SANDPIPER - 1 on Wilstone throughout (SR)

COMMON GULL - first-winter on Wilstone on 20th (SR)

HOBBY - juvenile still present (SR)
COMMON SWIFT - single over Startopsend Reservoir on 20th (Dave Bilcock)

YELLOW WAGTAIL - 2 at Ivinghoe on 20th (DB) with 1 on Wilstone on 20th (SR)
NORTHERN WHEATEAR - up to 3 birds below Ivinghoe Beacon from 19-21, with three more at Pitstone Hill on 20th. An additional two were on Wilstone on 20th (SR, Mike & Rose Collard, John Taylor).
COMMON STONECHAT - an influx of 8 birds near Ivinghoe Beacon on 20-21 (Mike Wallen et al)
WHINCHAT - a juvenile remains in the Sheep Pens at Ivinghoe on 21st
COMMON REDSTART - a juvenile male was on the south slope by the S-bend at Ivinghoe Hills on 21st (Mike Wallen)

EUROPEAN REED WARBLER - 1 on Marsworth on 20th (SR)

COMMON WHITETHROAT - 1 on Steps Hill on 20th (SR)

SPOTTED FLYCATCHER - 1 in the hedgerow of the horse field by Startops on 20th (DB) with another on Steps Hill on 20th (SR)

SISKINS - 20+ over Ivinghoe Hills NR on 18th (MW)

Jay - an obvious passage on 21st (MW)
