Early Friday morning

First thing, i.e. before 6am the two Oystercatchers and two Shelduck were on Startops and a male Mandarin flew over Startops into Bucks.

David Bilcock joined me for the first time this year on a working day morning – it must be Spring now! Anyway a Redshank flew in while we were there and was on the bank in the middle. Also four Little Egrets about.

The Brent Goose was in the field next to the farmshop and the reservoir. The Water Pipit was on the bank by the jetty, but while I was getting my camcorder out it decided to fly of f to Startops. It is close to summer plumage now and hopefully will remain long enough for us to enjoy it (Roy Hargreaves)
