Sunday 7 August
A breezy start meant hard working looking for migrants in the top bushes and slopes. A pair of COMMON RAVENS were the best I could manage at Incombe Hole so I decided to concentrate on the gulls in the fields below Steps Hill. Amongst the 200 LBBs present were 2 birds with coloured rings, one dark blue and the other red. Unfortunately due to the distance it was not possible to accurately read their codes but what I could manage of the blue ring it was a Norwegian ringed bird (pictured above). Also present was a single adult YLG, possibly the same bird as yesterday (David Bilcock).
